Another Day In The Upscale Surfer's Paradise

Today was a day to that we could do what we liked.  Some people went to the beach and others went to the pool since it was pretty fancy.  I headed to the pool and met a bunch of the others.  After that, my UK gal Liz and I headed to town.  She wanted to buy a few souvenirs and I wanted to try to get some free wifi to update my blog.  The walk felt so much longer than it did the day before.

We headed to Starbucks, just FYI you have to buy something in order to use the internet.  They limit you to 30 minutes max on the internet.  After the minutes were up we headed to McDonalds where the internet was free.  But the wifi wasn't working at all.  We spent a couple hours down there, when we headed back we walked along the beach.  Not too many people at the beach but the waves were kickin pretty high.  Unfortunately I didn't take pictures, so you will have to use your imagination on what the beach looked like, unless you decide to visit there.  I highly recommend going to Surfers Paradise.

Once we got back some people did certain activities, and others stayed behind at the hotel and had a bbq in the grill area over on the side of the hotel outside.  We got to meet the new people that came onto our tour halfway through.

After dinner we all decided to go out to a nightclub.  The DJ was hott and the place was poppin, lots of locals and tourists filled the place.  Our tour guide set us up to get free drinks at the club.   The place reminded me somewhat of a smaller Vegas nightclub, so I almost felt right at home.

Surfers Paradise

We made it to Surfers Paradise located in Queensland.  We stayed at a really nice hotel called Australis Sovereign.  The room had one big room in the living room with two beds and a pull out couch and also a private room with a queen bed.  Once we relaxed and got settled in the room some of us decided to walk to the downtown area of Surfers Paradise where we checked out all the nightlife.  A few of us went to dinner at a Japanese Restaurant.

After dinner I decided to walk across the street to an official Australia Ugg Boot Store.  I had to make it official I was in an actual Australian Store.

For a pair of shoes I was wearing, that had Swarovski crystals on them, cost around $500.  But usually a pair of real Australian Ugg's with nothing fancy on them can run from $200 and up.  In addition to buying them in an actual store, you can order them online too.  The shipping might be pretty expensive depending on where you live.

Australian Wildlife Currumbin Sanctuary

On our way to Surfers Paradise we stopped at the animal sanctuary.   This is where we had the chance to see Kangaroos and Koala Bears, and other species of animals.  The first thing we did when we got to the park was went to take professional pictures with the Koala Bears.

While I stood in line there was a tree on the left of me that had the cutest smallest koalas.  Take a look at the picture.  Don't they look so innocent and furry?

Look at the way my koala bear wraps his hand around my arm. Ahhh

After we looked at many different species of animals we headed over to where the kangaroos were.  There was a large area where the kangaroos freely hopped around.  You could feed them and pet them.  They did not bite at all, and were very sweet.  Some of the kangaroos did seem a bit scared, so when we started walking towards them they hopped off.  I want to take one home.
